Short answer: You create a LinkedIn company page from your own LinkedIn profile. On a computer, click the For Business icon in the upper right, then Create a Company Page, and choose Company. Fill in the name, URL, website, industry, size and type, confirm that you can act for the company and click Create page. It’s free, and you become the Page’s super admin.
Page or personal profile
LinkedIn puts it in one line: Pages represent organizations, profiles represent individuals. Your profile is your professional history. The Page is where the business posts updates, lists jobs and shows what it sells.
You need a profile to create a Page, and LinkedIn says you can’t convert a profile into a Page. If you set up a profile under your company’s name, LinkedIn may log you out, and repeated violations can get the account restricted. Its advice is to change that profile to your real name and create a Page for the business instead.
LinkedIn has other Page types that hang from a company page:
- Showcase Page: a brand, business unit or initiative with its own audience.
- Product Page and Service Page: your products, or the services members can message you about.
- Career Page: a paid license for recruiting, with a Life tab about your culture.
Most small businesses only need the company page.

Before you create it
LinkedIn asks for these before it creates a Page. If one is missing, the form shows an error instead.
- A real profile. Use your real first and last name, and confirm the email address on your account.
- More than one connection. Your account must be connected to more than one other member.
- An account at least one day old. A brand-new account has to wait a day.
- A verified workplace, if asked. LinkedIn may ask you to verify the job on your profile, through a work email or Microsoft Entra Verified ID.
- No Page for the business yet. Search LinkedIn first. If your company already has a Page, request admin access instead of creating a second one.
LinkedIn sometimes creates a Listing Page for a company on its own. A current employee can claim it, and once claimed it works like a normal company page.

Create it on desktop
- Open the menu. On your LinkedIn homepage, click the For Business icon in the upper-right corner.
- Start. Scroll down and click Create a Company Page.
- Choose the type. Select Company. The other choices are Showcase page and Educational institution.
- Fill in the form. LinkedIn groups it in Page identity, Company or Institution details and Profile details.
- Confirm. Select the box that says you have the right to act on behalf of the company.
- Create. Click Create page, then Start building your page! to keep going.
LinkedIn’s own four-step page says the form asks for your company name, industry, website URL and other basic business information.
For the industry, pick the closest match from LinkedIn’s list, which now follows the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS). Members searching for your industry find the Page more easily.

Create it on an iPhone
LinkedIn supports two ways: the desktop site and the LinkedIn app on iOS. Creating a Page isn’t supported on Android phones, so Android users need a computer.
- Go to any LinkedIn Page in the app.
- Tap More on the right and select Create a LinkedIn Page.
- Choose Company (the other option is Educational institution).
- Enter the details: company name, public URL, website, industry, company size, company type and tagline.
- Tap the verification box, then Create in the upper right.

Logo, cover and URL
LinkedIn takes PNG or JPEG files of up to 3 MB. Its sizes:
- Logo: at least 268 by 268 pixels, 400 by 400 recommended. It shows on light and dark backgrounds, and a transparent logo gets a white background.
- Cover image: 1,512 by 256 pixels. It can be trimmed to fit each screen, so keep key details in the center and away from the edges, above all the lower-right corner.
For the sharpest result, LinkedIn suggests a high-resolution JPEG over a PNG, and little text on the cover.
Every Page URL starts with linkedin.com/company/, followed by the name you choose. The URL needs at least one character that isn’t a number. It takes lowercase letters, numbers and hyphens, with no hyphen at the start or end and no two in a row. Anything else is replaced with a hyphen.
Choose it with care. You can edit it later, but not more than once in 30 days, and renaming the Page doesn’t change it. The old address keeps redirecting until another Page asks for it.

Sections to complete
LinkedIn says Pages with a logo, description and website URL are easier to discover and “potentially receive 30% more weekly views”. To edit, open your Page’s super admin view and click Edit page in the left menu. The Help Center lists these sections:
- Industry, company size and the overview, which LinkedIn requires before you can use Invite to follow.
- Description and logo.
- Website URL.
- Locations. You can add several and mark one as the primary office.
- Commitments.
- A call-to-action button.
- Work email verification.
The button is set in the Buttons tab: turn on Custom button, pick a name such as Visit website, Contact us or Sign up, add the URL and click Save. On a free Page, visitors only see it after clicking More. The button at the top of the Page comes with Premium.
Use a Showcase Page only if a brand or line of business talks to a different audience. A super admin of the parent Page creates it from the admin view (Create, then Create a Showcase Page), up to 25 per Page. LinkedIn makes a Showcase Page inactive after six months without posts.
Once the Page looks finished, invite your connections from the admin view, and post often: LinkedIn warns that a Page with little activity can look unofficial.

Admin roles
Whoever creates the Page becomes its super admin. LinkedIn has three Page admin roles:
- Super admin: everything, including editing the Page, adding and removing admins, creating Showcase Pages, buying Premium and deactivating the Page.
- Content admin: posts and Sponsored Content as the Page, jobs, events, messages (on eligible Pages) and analytics, without editing the Page details or managing admins.
- Analyst: views and exports analytics.
Paid media admins are a separate group for advertising. They work through Campaign Manager and have no Page admin view.
To add an admin, go to the super admin view, click Settings and then Manage admins, open the Page admins tab and click Add admin. Search for the person, choose the role and click Save.
The person must be a 1st, 2nd or 3rd-degree connection and follow the Page, and each person gets one Page admin role.
Add a second super admin as soon as the Page exists. LinkedIn advises it in case a super admin loses access or leaves, because it can’t give out admin information or replace or remove admins for you. Give everyone else the lowest role that covers their work, and ask every admin to turn on two-factor authentication on their own account.
If an agency will post for you, a content admin role covers it.

Verification and Premium
A verification badge tells members the Page is the organization’s official one. LinkedIn says Premium Company Pages, and Pages that pay for Jobs or Ads, are eligible automatically. Other Pages may qualify by posting and answering members, but not every Page can request it.
To check, open the super admin view, click Settings, then Verification controls. If that option is missing, your Page isn’t eligible yet. LinkedIn looks at whether the location and website are accurate, whether admins are active and whether the Page follows its policies. The process can take up to ten days.
Premium Company Page is a paid subscription, separate from personal LinkedIn Premium. LinkedIn lists:
- the custom button at the top of the Page and in search results
- who visited the Page each week
- automatic invitations to follow
- a client testimonial and credibility highlights
- up to five dynamic cover images and a gold LinkedIn logo
LinkedIn doesn’t publish the price in its help (read October 27, 2026). It says the price appears on screen when you click the Premium trial option in the left menu of your homepage, and that only a super admin can subscribe. Each Page needs its own subscription.

When creation fails
LinkedIn’s troubleshooting page names each error message:
- Page with the same name already exists. Check whether it’s yours. If it belongs to another business, you can still create yours with a URL nobody has taken.
- Not enough LinkedIn connections. Connect with more people you know, then try again.
- New LinkedIn account. Wait at least one day.
- Created too many Pages in one day. Wait a few days.
- LinkedIn URL already in use. Pick another, for example by adding “inc”.
- Unverified workplace. Verify your job with a work email or Microsoft Entra Verified ID.
If none fits, clear the browser cache and cookies or try another browser.
RememberCreate the Page from a real profile with more than one connection, on a computer or the iOS app: For Business, Create a Company Page, Company. Choose the URL with care, add a 400 by 400 logo and a 1,512 by 256 cover, complete the key sections and add a second super admin on day one.

Quick answers
Does a LinkedIn company page cost anything?
No. LinkedIn says you can create a Page for free, and a free company page lets you post, see analytics and add a call to action. The paid extras are optional: Premium Company Page, Career Pages for recruiting, and ads. LinkedIn doesn’t list the Premium price in its help; it shows it on screen.
Why can’t I create a LinkedIn Page on my Android phone?
Because LinkedIn doesn’t support it. Its Help Center says you can create a Page on the desktop site or in the LinkedIn app on an iOS device, and that creating one isn’t supported on Android. From an Android phone, open LinkedIn on a computer and use For Business, then Create a Company Page.
Can I turn my personal LinkedIn profile into a company page?
No. LinkedIn says you can’t convert a profile into a Page, and a profile must represent a real person. If you made a profile under your business name, LinkedIn suggests renaming it to your real name, creating a Page for the business and inviting your connections to follow it.
Can I change my LinkedIn Page URL later?
Yes, but not often. LinkedIn lets you edit the public URL at any time, though not more than once in a 30-day period, and the hidden number URL never changes. Renaming the Page doesn’t update the URL. The old address keeps redirecting until another Page requests it.
How long does LinkedIn Page verification take?
Up to ten days, LinkedIn says, because of the volume of requests. You request it from Settings, then Verification controls, if your Page is eligible. Pages with Premium Company Page, Jobs or Ads qualify automatically. LinkedIn replies when the Page is verified or when it needs more from you.
