Short answer: On Facebook, every video you post is now a reel, except Stories and Live, at any length and in any orientation. To post one for your business, switch into your Page, open Reels, click Create reel, add the video and a description, choose a Public audience and click Publish.

What a Facebook reel is now

Facebook says all videos posted to Facebook are now shared as reels, regardless of length or orientation. Reels can combine several clips, and they come with music, audio and AR effects. Facebook recommends them to people it thinks may be interested, in places like Feed and Video.

The change also brought the numbers together. Insights for all videos, except live videos and Stories, now appear as reels insights, and Facebook counts a view from 1 millisecond of playtime. Public reels from Instagram can show on Facebook too, when their creator chooses to recommend them there.

How to post a reel from your Page on a computer

  1. Click your profile picture in the top right, then See all profiles, and choose your business Page.
  2. Click the profile picture again and click your Page name to open its profile.
  3. Click Reels, then Create reel.
  4. Click Add video, select the video on your computer and click Next.
  5. Trim the video or select a cover image if you want, then click Next.
  6. Click Describe your reel… to add a description or hashtags, and check the audience.
  7. Switch remixing on or off, then click Publish.

On a computer you can upload a video of any length and any aspect ratio. Effects, music and several clips in one reel need the Facebook app for iPhone or Android. Hashtags help people find your reel when they search, and the description is optional.

Who sees your reel and who can use its audio

Each reel follows the audience you choose for it, and you can change it at any time, including when you create it. A default audience sets the audience for your future reels, and it also applies to reels you share from your Instagram account.

Audience Who can see the reel Your original audio
Public Anyone, including people off Facebook People on Facebook can use it in their reels
Friends Only your friends on Facebook Others can’t reuse it
Only me Only you Others can’t reuse it

Our own summary of the Facebook Help Center pages on reels and their audience, read on November 6, 2026.

For a business, Public is the audience that lets new people find the reel. If your profile is locked, you can’t select a public audience. With remixing on and a public reel, others can use your original audio or clips in their own reels.

If you later change a reel from public to private, any content that reused your original audio is muted for people outside your audience. Your followers on Instagram may not be your friends on Facebook, so check who will see a reel you share from Instagram. Our guide to Instagram Reels covers reels made in that app.

How to see how your reels are doing

You can see insights for your Page’s reels in Meta Business Suite, on a computer or in its app. Switch into your Page, click Meta Business Suite in the left menu and select Insights. You can use the filters there to compare reels by length.

On a personal profile, reel insights need pro mode and at least 1,000 followers. Then click See insights under the reel to see its engagement. Our Meta Business Suite guide explains the rest of the tool, including scheduling posts and reels.

For paid video, our guide to Facebook video ads explains the formats and what an ad needs.

Before you publish a reel

  • You switched into your business Page before you started.
  • The description says what the reel shows, with a hashtag or two.
  • The audience is Public, so new people can find the reel.
  • Remixing is set the way you want for your original audio.
  • Effects, music or several clips were added in the Facebook app.
  • You know where to read the reel’s numbers in Meta Business Suite.

RememberEvery video you post on Facebook, except Stories and Live, is now a reel. Post it from your Page with a Public audience, decide whether others can remix it, and read its numbers in Meta Business Suite.

Our video production service shoots short vertical videos at your business in Miami-Dade and cuts them into reels. They come with captions in English, Spanish or both. Write to us on WhatsApp or send the form.

Quick answers about Facebook reels

Are all Facebook videos reels now?

Yes. Facebook now shares every video you post as a reel, except Stories and Live, whatever its length or orientation. Each reel follows the privacy setting you choose, so a reel that isn’t public only reaches the audience you picked.

How long can a Facebook reel be?

Facebook says reels are now unified videos of any length and any aspect ratio, and one reel can combine several clips. To add effects or music, or to join several clips, use the Facebook app for iPhone or Android.

Who can use the audio from my Facebook reel?

If the reel is public, people on Facebook can use your original audio in their own reels. With remixing on, they can also use your clips. Original audio from private or non-public reels can’t be reused by others.

Where do I see the insights for my Page’s reels?

In Meta Business Suite, on a computer or in its app. Switch into your Page, open Meta Business Suite, choose Insights and filter your reels by length. On a personal profile, you need pro mode and at least 1,000 followers.

Do reels I share from Instagram follow my Facebook audience?

Yes. Your default audience for reels on Facebook also applies to reels you share from Instagram. If you haven’t set one, Facebook sets it to Public for a public Instagram account and to Friends for a private one.
