Google Maps

Your Google profile carries your real name, not your treatments

Google asks that the profile name reflect your business’s real-world name, as customers know it. Adding unnecessary information to the name isn’t permitted and could get the profile suspended.

Categories aren’t keywords either, Google says. So treatment names belong on your pages and in your posts, and the profile keeps the name on your door.

On SEO Starter we keep your profile up to date, with 4 posts a month and replies to reviews.

Injectables

Where a search for an injectable finds its answer

Google restricts the use of prescription drug terms in ads, landing pages and keywords. Depending on the location, an advertiser may be able to use them, under location rules.

Botox Cosmetic appears in the FDA’s drug database with the marketing status “Prescription”. The policy covers ads, their landing pages and keywords, and your treatment page in the search results is not an ad.

For each injectable we write what the treatment is, who performs it at your med spa and the price, if you publish it. Your medical director approves the page before it goes live.

In Spanish

The words people type when they search in Spanish

In the US, searches set to Spanish include “medspa” 49,500 times a month, against 170 for “spa médico”. “Clínica estética” gets 9,900 and “medicina estética” 4,400.

So our Spanish pages say “med spa” and use “clínica estética” where it fits. We write both versions ourselves, with the same treatments and the same prices.

Questions med spas ask about SEO

Can we add our treatments to our Google profile name?

No. Google asks for your business’s real-world name, as customers know it, and says adding unnecessary information to the name isn’t permitted. It could get the profile suspended. Categories aren’t keywords either, so your treatments go on your website pages and in your profile posts.

Does each treatment need its own page?

For the treatments people search, yes. In the Miami area, “laser hair removal miami” gets 1,000 searches a month and “lip filler miami” 880. A page for each one can answer that search directly, with how the treatment works at your med spa and who performs it.

Can our Google ads mention Botox?

Google restricts prescription drug terms in ads, landing pages and keywords, and the FDA lists Botox Cosmetic as a prescription drug. Depending on the location, some advertisers may be able to use those terms. Your own page about the treatment is not an ad, so it can answer that search.

Which words do our Spanish pages use?

The ones people type. In the US, Spanish searches include “medspa” 49,500 times a month and “spa médico” only 170, while “clínica estética” gets 9,900. So the Spanish pages say “med spa”, and we write both languages ourselves, with the same prices.

What does SEO Starter include?

Your Google profile with 4 posts a month, replies to reviews and directory listings, plus fixes on up to 4 pages a month and a monthly report. It costs $1,500.00 a month, with no setup and month to month. Growth and Pro cost more and do more.
