Short answer: A booking page lets customers pick a day and a time and book an appointment themselves, any time of day. Set its duration, availability and time zone, give yourself a lead time and buffers between appointments, keep the form short, and send a confirmation by email.

What a booking page does

A booking page shows the times you’re free and lets a customer take one without a phone call or an email thread. Booking tools build it from your calendar. Google Calendar, for example, sets up a booking page from your weekday availability and doesn’t show times when you’re busy.

Setting What it does Why it matters
Duration and availability Sets how long each appointment is and when you take them Customers see only the times you can keep
Time zone Ties your availability to the right clock Customers in other cities book the right hour
Lead time and booking window Sets how soon and how far ahead people can book No surprise bookings an hour from now
Buffer time Adds time between appointments Room to prepare, clean up or travel
Maximum per day Limits how many appointments you take in a day A full day doesn’t get fuller
Email verification Sends a code to people not signed in to Google Fewer spam bookings

The settings that keep your calendar under control

Start with the appointment length and your availability, and set the time zone of your appointments. Change your availability for specific dates, such as holidays, so nobody books a day you’re closed.

Then set how far ahead people can book and how much notice you need. Google Calendar uses a 4-hour minimum lead time by default, so a new booking page may show no times for the current day.

Add buffer time if you need to prepare, clean up or travel between appointments. Microsoft Bookings lets you place it before an appointment, after it, or both. A maximum number of bookings per day keeps a busy day from getting busier.

Keep the booking form short and confirm every booking

Ask only for what you need to hold the appointment, such as a name and an email address. Google Calendar’s appointment schedules can ask for an email verification code from people who aren’t signed in to a Google Account, which cuts spam bookings.

Set up confirmation emails and reminders so customers remember the appointment and know how to change it. Our contact form guide covers how to keep a form short enough that people finish it.

How to set up a booking page

  1. Choose a booking tool that works with the calendar you already use.
  2. Set the appointment length, your weekly availability and your time zone.
  3. Block holidays and days off.
  4. Set the minimum notice and how far ahead people can book.
  5. Add buffer time and a daily maximum if you need them.
  6. Keep the form short and turn on confirmation and reminder emails.
  7. Put the calendar on its own page of your website and link to it from your menu, your profile and your ads.

Our Reserve with Google guide covers how to add that page to your Business Profile, and our landing page guide covers what makes a page people act on.

How our own booking page works

Our own booking page offers 20-minute calls. On November 4, 2026 we opened it as a new visitor: the calendar sits on the page itself, and the first weekday it showed had 16 start times, every half hour from 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM. That leaves 10 minutes between calls.

Under the times, the page names the visitor’s time zone. Opened from Madrid, the same day ran from 3:00 PM to 10:30 PM; from Los Angeles, from 6:00 AM to 1:30 PM.

After picking a time, the visitor sees the call’s day and time with a link to change it, and a short form: name, email and phone, an optional line about the topic and a consent box that links to our privacy policy. The invitation arrives by email, and the visitor can change the time from there.

Before you share your booking link

  • The page shows only the times you can keep.
  • The time zone is set and shown to visitors.
  • Holidays and days off are blocked.
  • There’s room between appointments if you need it.
  • The form asks only for what you need.
  • A confirmation email goes out after every booking.

RememberSet your booking page’s limits before you share the link: minimum notice, buffers, a daily maximum and a short form.

Quick answers about booking pages

What is a booking page?

A page where customers pick a day and a time and book an appointment themselves. It shows only the times you’re free, takes a few details from the customer and sends a confirmation, so nobody has to go back and forth by email.

How far ahead should customers be able to book?

Set both ends. Google Calendar lets you set the maximum time in advance someone can book and a minimum lead time, which is 4 hours by default. Short notice is fine if you can prepare quickly.

Do I need time between appointments?

Usually yes, if you need to prepare, clean up or travel. Google Calendar calls it buffer time, and Microsoft Bookings lets you set it before an appointment, after it, or both.

How do I stop spam bookings?

Ask for a verified email. Google Calendar’s appointment schedules can send a verification code to people who aren’t signed in to a Google Account when they request an appointment.

Which time zone does a booking page use?

You set the time zone of your availability. A good booking page then shows the times in the visitor’s own time zone and says so, which helps customers who book from another city.
